Jason Wayne Cawvey, age 45 of Maryville, IL, born April 6, 1975 in Belleville, IL, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 1, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.
Jason was a 1993 Collinsville High School graduate, where he played on the soccer team that won the state championship. His love of soccer continued after high school having coached several teams over the years. Jason served his country proudly in the United States Navy from 1993 to 1996, was an entrepreneur of a telecommunications and security business, and a partner of Navigation Church in Collinsville. He was a devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and son-in-law. He will be deeply missed.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Jackie (nee Walton) Price.
He is survived by his loving wife, Kelly (nee Becker) Cawvey, who he married October 13, 2001; his three children, Triston Cawvey of Orlando, FL, Zac Cawvey and Madison Cawvey both of Maryville, IL; his father, Darrell Cawvey of Collinsville, IL; and three sisters, Christi Watson of Collinsville, IL, Rachael Cawvey of Lebanon, IL and Sarah Cawvey of Godfrey, IL; four nieces, Brooklyn Watson, Brianne (Evan) DeVore, Sophia DeVore and Ainsley Becker; and one nephew, Oliver Tierney-Hurst.
Visitation will be 4 – 7 pm on Monday, November 9, 2020 at Navigation Church, 1205 Vandalia Street, Collinsville, IL. Masks are required to be worn and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
Funeral service will be at 11 am on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the church with Rev. David Amsden officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
Memorials may be made in Jason's honor to Navigation Church or American Diabetes Association and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
