Jennie Marie Cain, age 86 of Maryville, IL, born December 14, 1938, in Somerset Township, IL, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, at Meridian Village Memory Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.
She graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1956. She worked for many years as a communications specialist at Scott Air Force Base before retiring to care for and spend time with her grandchildren. Jennie and Richard R. Cain were married on September 19, 1959. They were able to celebrate 60 years together before his passing in 2019. She attended Maryville Assembly of God Church in Maryville, IL, which later became New Rivers Assembly of God.
Jennie was a talented baker and made birthday, wedding and event cakes for many through the years. She enjoyed tole painting, making stained glass windows, and advent calendars for family and friends. She was a wonderful daughter, and took pride in being the best wife, mother, PaMa, sister, aunt and cousin anyone could ever have. She was always improving and making the lives of those around her better. She was dearly loved and will be missed by all.
In addition to her husband, Richard, she was preceded in death by her mother, Ella Vivian (nee Chancey) Anderson; a brother, Robert Bradshaw; and a sister, Wilma Leone Giger.
She is survived by her three sons: Jeff (Rita) Cain of Maryville, IL, Timothy Cain of Kirkwood, MO, and Richard Cain Jr. of Maryville, IL; a daughter, Vicki (Tom) Bridges of Collinsville, IL; 9 grandchildren: Cory (Ravelle) Cain, Nicholas (Sara) Cain, Rachel Cain, Breann (Trevor) Spohr, Jacob (Kaeli) Shaffer, Cain Bridges, Kaitlyn Cain, Jennaka Cain and Richard "Ryker" Cain III; five great-grandchildren: Beau Spohr, Knox Spohr, Elaina Shaffer, Caden Shaffer and Miller Cain; a brother, Wayne (Georgia) Bradshaw of Gilbertsville, KY; numerous nieces and nephews; all of whom she loved with all of her heart.
Private graveside services will be held at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Glen Carbon, IL.
Memorials are suggested to West County Assembly of God Youth Ministry and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
