Joan M. Dervalis, age 80, of Collinsville, IL, born January 1, 1938 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on November 29, 2018 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Joan was a legal secretary for Wallace Realtors for over 40 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, cooking, was an avid reader and a faithful St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan and, most of all, she loved her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Bonnie ( nee Hill) Hauser; her husband, Dan Dervalis, Sr.; a son, Rick Alan Dervalis; a brother, Frank Hauser; and a sister, June Hauser.

She is survived by a son, Dan (Cathy) Dervalis of Caseyville, IL; a daughter-in-law, Tami Dervalis of Newberg, OR; four grandchildren: Dani (Patrick) Jaeger, Jake (Missy) Dervalis, Hayden and Haylee Dervalis; and four great-grandchildren: Raina, Ellie, Molly, and Patience.

Memorial visitation will be held from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL, immediately followed by a memorial service at 6 p.m. officiated by Rev. Jim Donahue.

Memorial donations may be made to Vitas Hospice and may be accepted at the funeral home.
