Joan Barbara “Betto” Kotarba, age 91, of Collinsville, born April 6, 1935 in Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on August 15, 2026 at the Dammert Care Center in Belleville, IL.

Joan was a graduate of Collinsville High School and retired after many years as the Medical Administrator in Dr. Tejada's office. She was a member of the YMCA, Lions Club, and Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, and she loved gardening and playing pinochle.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James "Musco" and Priscilla (Guinzy) Combetto, and her husband, Charles "Charlie" L. Kotarba, whom she married on September 23, 1971.

She is survived by her daughter, Kimberly Elsberry of San Diego, CA; her granddaughter, Laurel Elsberry of Ft. Collins, CO; and her sister, Joyce Fitzgerald of Collinsville, IL.

A funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026 at Mother of Perpetual Catholic Church in Maryville, IL, with Father Rob Johnson, Celebrant. Burial will be at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville, IL.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Benedictine Living Community at the Shrine of Our Lady of Snows.
