John E. "Big Blue" Adamove, age 74 of Fairmont City, IL, born April 15, 1940 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away at 11:57pm on Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Memorial Hospital in Belleville, IL.

John was retired from Monsanto/Solutia after 40 years of service. He coordinated, as well as played and managed in, the Fairmont City Softball League for 20 years. He enjoyed hunting elk and deer, fishing, spending time at his cabin at Lake Egypt, and boating on the upper Mississippi River.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Erna nee Schamberger Adamove; and an infant brother.

He is survived by his brother, Leroy Adamove of Fairmont City, IL; a cousin who was like a sister, Debbie (Randy) Jones of Troy, IL; and numerous other cousins and many dear friends.

Visitation will be from 4pm to 8pm on Monday, October 6, 2014 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10am on Tuesday, October 7, 2014 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL, with Rev. Ron Habermehl officiating. Burial will be in St. Clair Memorial Park Cemetery in Fairview Heights, IL.
