John Leslie Carlson, Sr., age of 70, born in East St. Louis, IL on April 21, 1955, passed away at his residence in Collinsville, IL on Monday, April 21, 2025.

John loved all pets, especially his dog Sable who was always by his side. He enjoyed fishing, rooting for the Kansas City Chiefs, and was very well known by his family as a "around backyard mechanic."

John is survived by two sons: John L. (Chandra) Carlson, Jr. of Sierra Vista, AZ and Matthew J. (Michelle) Carlson of O'Fallon, IL.; three grandchildren Gage L.T. Carlson, Matthew J. Carlson, Jr. and Faith White; dear friend: Randy Ifland II.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Julie M. Carlson (nee Young), his parents, James L. and Edith K. (nee Crawford) Carlson and his longtime girlfriend, Trisha Ifland.

John's wishes were to be cremated. There will be no services at this time.
