John R Harris Jr. age 75 of Edwardsville passed away November 2, 2025.

He was born July 2nd, 1950 in East St. Louis, IL, the son of the late John R Harris Sr. and Blanch Rodriguez Harris.

John graduated from SIUE and began his career at Saint Louis University where for more than 45 years he was a respected IT manager with the University.

John enjoyed listening to the music of his youth such as CSNY, Bruce Springsteen, and Boz Scaggs. He could often be found watching soccer, baseball, and football or listening to a sports TV or radio show.

His greatest joy above all was time with his family, especially checking in on his three children and four grandchildren.

John is survived by his wife, Elizabeth; sons: Neil Harris of Mission Viejo, CA, John R. Harris III of Huntington Beach, CA; daughter, Alyne McCrea of Aurora, CO; daughter-in-law, Meenal Harris; son-in-law, Joey McCrea; sisters: Mary Cardwell and Judy Deweese; brother-in-law, Wes Deweese; and four cherished granddaughters.

In accordance with his wishes, he will be cremated, and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
