John “Jake” Edward Sikora, 54, of Carbondale, IL, passed away on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at his residence in Carbondale IL.

Jake was born on December 16, 1971, in Belleville, IL to Joseph Eugene Sikora Sr. and Mary Margaret (nee Barnes) Sikora. He was a 1990 graduate of Collinsville High School and worked as a carpenter all of his life in his hometown in Madison County and as a Union Carpenter in the Southern Illinois Carbondale area.

Jake had a deep appreciation for the outdoors and enjoyed spending his time hunting, fishing, and exploring nature. He cherished the friendships he built throughout his life and was happiest when sharing good times and laughter with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Sikora, Sr., and a sister-in-law Sharon.

Jake is survived by his loving mother, Mary Margaret Sikora of Collinsville, IL; two brothers, Anthony Sikora of St. Louis, MO and Joseph Jr. (Kristie) Sikora of Collinsville, IL; a sister, Carolyn Bailey of Belleville, IL; nieces and nephews Tony, Kristen, Danny, Natasha, Billy; and numerous great nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 12, 2026, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home.
