John Frederick Nicol, age 53 of Collinsville, IL, born September 18, 1963 in Belleville, IL, passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at his residence surrounded by family.

John was a network engineer for Harris IT. He was an avid pool player.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John A. and Martha Ruth nee Hillier Nicol.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy nee McComy Nicol, whom he married September 10, 2005; a son, Josh Fischer of Collinsville, IL; a daughter, Brittany Nicol of Collinsville, IL; a stepdaughter, Shannon (Brett) Feldewerth of St. Louis, MO; two grandchildren: Nova Schwinn and Elliot Feldewerth; an expected grandson; a brother, Robert Nicol of Collinsville, IL; and a sister, Christine (Michael) Jackson of Collinsville, IL.

Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Wednesday, March 29, 2017at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 1pm on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at the funeral home with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made to the American Lung Associationor American Cancer Society and will be accepted at the funeral home.
