John Anthony Rice, Jr., age 80 of Collinsville, IL, born July 11, 1942 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, February 27, 2023 at his residence.

John was a proud retired union electrician for IBEW Local #309. He served in the U.S. Army, and was in the Bowling Hall of Fame in Arlington, TX for bowling back to back 900 series.  He was an avid sports and horse race track fan, and enjoyed grilling and cooking.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Anthony Sr. and Mary Madeline (nee Ceresero) Rice.

Surviving are his two daughters, Dawn (Eric) Gunderson of Granite City, IL and Robin (Paul Harris) Rice of Savannah, GA; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two sisters, Kathleen and Wanda; a niece; and numerous nephews.

Graveside service with military honors will be held at 3 p.m. on Monday, March 6, 2023 at St. Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery in Collinsville with Father Michael Haag officiating.
