John Gilbert Wilson age 73 of Troy, IL, born November 26, 1942 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away at 6:55am on Friday January 1, 2016 at his residence surrounded by family.

John was a retired driver for the Teamsters Local #682. He enjoyed playing pool with his friends, hunting, fishing, and being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents Arlie and Lela nee Marshall Wilson, a son John William Wilson, and three brothers, Charles, Leon, and Lonnie.

He is survived by two daughters; Tracy (Michael) Mrvos of Windham, NH, and Jill (Timothy) Dolan of Maryville, IL, five grandchildren; Justin (Mary), Jordan, Jared, Will, and Emma, a sister LaVerne Mary Losser of Collinsville, IL, a nephew Virgil Ward and numerous other nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be from 9:30am to 10:30am on Wednesday January 6, 2016 at St. Cecilia Catholic Church 155 North Main Street Glen Carbon, IL.

Memorial mass will be at 10:30am Wednesday at the church with Father Albert Allen celebrant.

Memorials may be made to Stray Rescue of St. Louis or to the Shriners Hospital.
