Judith K. Brombolich, 82, of Maryville, IL, formerly of Cahokia, peacefully passed away on Sunday, September 7, 2025, at Liberty Village in Maryville surrounded by her loving family.
Born June 22, 1943, in East St. Louis, IL, she was the only child of the late Russell and Norma (née Reed) Roland. Judy dedicated many years working as a secretary for the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod. She was a member at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville.
A social and kind-hearted woman, Judy cherished her many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed being part of a card club and the Red Hat Society. She also maintained a close Catholic friend group and a Saturday lunch group, which brought her great joy. A loyal fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, she rarely missed a game and loved cheering on her team. Judy also gave back to her community through her volunteer work at Anderson Hospital.
Above all, Judy was passionate about her role as a mother. She loved attending her children's and grandchildren's events over the years and was immensely proud of their accomplishments.
She was preceded in death by her parents, former husband, Eugene Brombolich, and her son-in-law, Dennis Thebeau.
Judy is survived by her beloved children: Alison Romanik Brombolich, Rebecca Brombolich, Rusty (Cheryl) Brombolich, and Kim Thebeau Brombolich.
She was a proud grandmother to: Rhett Romanik, Carson Barton, Kennedy Barton, Courtney Kunkle Brombolich, Caitlyn Brombolich, Dane Thebeau, Danielle Jokish, Trey Thebeau and Tanner Thebeau.
She was also blessed with 14 great-grandchildren: Ryder Romanik, Cadence Merrifield, Dayton Lewis, Taytum Thebeau, Tristyn Thebeau, AJ Jokisch, Wyatt Jokisch, Emma Jokisch, Kayne Thebeau, Kolby Thebeau, Suttyn Thebeau, Xander Thebeau, Cambree Thebeau, and Knox Thebeau.
Judy is also survived by many cherished friends, including Rachel Zuniga-Aldridge, who was like another daughter to her.
In her final act of generosity, Judy donated her body to the Saint Louis University School of Medicine for the advancement of medical science.
A memorial visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 14, 2025, and again from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. on Monday, September 15, 2025, at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville. A memorial service will follow at 10:00 a.m., officiated by Rev. Dale Skeesick.
