Judson "Judd" Melanchthon Rawlings, age 61 of Maryville, IL, born July 22, 1961 in Chicago, IL, passed away on Monday, December 5, 2022.

Judd worked at U.S. Steel Corporation - Granite City Works as a steel worker.  He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps and U.S. Air Force.  He was a fierce protector.  Judd loved to travel with his wife and family, watch movies, listen to music, and was an excellent writer.  He was a huge Chicago Cubs Baseball fan, and loved to tell "Dad Jokes."

He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and super star son-in-law, who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his parents, George Dyck and Helen Unrau; his wife, Sophia (nee Cole) Rawlings, whom he married July 4, 1992; a son, Vincent (Nicole) Rawlings; one grandchild, Aurora; two brothers:  Calvin and Stan Holmstrom; three sisters:  Vienna Horwath, Yvonne Wagner and Angie Valentino; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial Visitation will be 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, December 11, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.  Military honors will be held at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Feeding America or Prevent Child Abuse America and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL.
