Kathleen Nell Dieu, age 78 of Maryville, IL, born October 3, 1941 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at Elmwood Nursing Home in Maryville, IL.

Kathleen was a retired executive secretary for Armstrong Teasdale, LLP Law Firm in St. Louis, MO.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Collinsville.  She enjoyed reading, was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, and a lover of cats.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman T. and Lois E. nee Biggins Dieu; a brother, William Dieu; and a niece, Linda Biggs.

She is survived by a son, Andrew (Michelle) Timmons of Collinsville, IL; a daughter, Anne Marie (Mona) Gibson of Collinsville, IL; one grandson, Daniel L. Timmons; a sister, Janet (Jeffrey) Slater of Collinsville, IL; two nephews, Tom Dieu of Alabama and Joe Slater of Louisville, KY; and a niece, Amy Rydgig of Maryville, IL.

Visitation will be 10am to 12 noon on Friday, October 2, 2020 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.  Due to the current COVID restrictions, social distancing guidelines will be observed and face masks are required.

Funeral service will be at 12 noon following the visitation with Rev. Roger Wright officiant.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Vitas Hospice or Partners for Pets and will be received at the funeral home.
