Kathy D. Blackford, age 73 of Maryville, IL, born May 26, 1950 in Highland, IL, passed away on Monday, June 26, 2023.

Kathy retired from SIUE as an administrative assistant.  She was an avid crafter and decorator.  She loved dogs, spending time with her brother, Rick, and her friend, Shirley.  Her favorite time was with her grandkids, great grandkids, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Dorothy (nee Todd) Hall; husband, Robert Warren Blackford, whom she married May 2, 1975; a son, Robert W. Blackford, Jr.;  a daughter, Aron Elizabeth Ponder; a granddaughter, Kylie Nicole Ponder; and two brothers:  Michael and Patrick Hall.

She is survived by her brother, Richard Hall; four grandchildren:  Heather (Shane) Huston, Trey (Jessica) Klette, Kaleb (Hannah) Klette, and Mason Ponder; four great-grandchildren:  Kaylee and Rylen Huston, and Maya and Savannah Klette; a son-in-law, Kevin Ponder; and a niece, Amy (Dave) Rhymer.

Visitation will be 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday, July 2, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be at 9:30 a.m. on Monday, July 3, 2023 at the funeral home with Rev. Katie Jo Bielke officiating.  Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO
