Kenneth W. Weil, age 71 of Edwardsville, IL, born December 8, 1951 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Ken attained his bachelor's degree in finance from the University of Illinois and continued to Dun & Bradstreet.  He later worked as a loan officer until retiring.  He was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville.   Ken was known for his generous heart, a big laugh, and the ability to make friends wherever he went.  Ken had an army of friends with him for life.  He enjoyed his time traveling with an always-laughing Debbie, golf and his golf trips with buddies, the University of Illinois basketball, cooking (and eating) great food, a good glass of bourbon, and casual time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Madeline (nee Ceresero) Weil; and his wife, Deborah K. (nee Chiapelli) Weil, whom he married March 22, 1986.

He is survived by a brother, Larry (Jacalyn) Weil of Edwardsville, IL; a sister, Debbie (Tim) Rohlman of Chesterfield, MO; two nieces: Molly (Steven) Catalano and Bethany (Mike) Kutz; three nephews: Matt and Jeff Rohlman, and Jacob (Ashley) Ulkus; numerous great nieces and nephews; his canine companion, Bode; and many friends.

Memorial visitation will be 12 noon to 2 p.m. on Thursday, March 16, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will follow at 2 p.m.  A Celebration of Life will follow the service.
