Laura Mae Hairston, age 86 of Granite City, IL, formerly of Wheeling, WV, passed away on Monday, May 11, 2020 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Laura was born November 9, 1933 in Wellsburg, WV to the late Norwood and Mamie nee Boyd Sigmond.  She attained a Master of Social Work and had worked as a computer programmer for First National Bank in Wheeling, WV until retiring.  Laura enjoyed to crotchet and play bingo but most of all loved to spend time with her children, grandchildren and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and two sons:  William Burress and Steven Burress.

She is survived by a son, James Burress of Tiltonsville, OH; two daughters:   Katherine Johnson of Granite City, IL and Lavina Hairston of Wheeling, WV; many grandchildren; and many great grandchildren.

Upon her request, Laura was cremated.
