Larry Elbert, age 66 of Collinsville, IL, born July 27, 1956 in Fort Knox, KY, passed away December 31, 2022 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Larry, known to most of his friends and family as Crow, loved spending time hiking the trails of Illinois and Missouri.  For many years he was an avid caver, doing a lot of his hiking underground.  He enjoyed getting together for poker games, camping trips, float trips and many other outdoor activities.  He was always willing to share his opinion on just about any subject and this came to be known as "Crow's Pearls of Wisdom."  He loved watching Jeopardy and usually correctly answered more questions than the contestants.

Larry was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Barbara Elbert.

He is survived by his father, Theo Elbert of Pensacola FL; three brothers: Steve (Lisa) Elbert of Gulf Breeze, FL, Tim (Shelly) Elbert of Niceville FL, and Mark (Maureen) Elbert of Maryville, IL; four nephews: Jason (Jennifer), Ryan (Tory), Preston (Katie) and Tyler Elbert.

A celebration of Larry's life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be to the Last Prisoner Project and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
