Leslie Ann Bone, age 39 of Glen Carbon, IL, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at her residence surrounded by family and close friends.
She was born July 8, 1983 in Farmington, MO to Gary and Charlotte (nee Boyer) Bone. She attended Kaskaskia College in Centralia, IL then Southern Illinois University Edwardsville. She married David Paul Johns on June 13, 2009.
Leslie was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon and enjoyed volunteering her time at St. John Neumann Catholic School in Maryville where their two daughters, Zoey and Allison, attend. She was an artist, a painter, loved music and going to concerts, rooting for the Cardinals, crafting, and volunteering with Relay for Life and 3 Little Birds 4 Life. Leslie was a wonderful daughter, wife and mother who will be forever cherished.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Ed and Celeste Bone; maternal grandparents, Roy and Ethel Boyer; and a brother, Robert Mercille.
Surviving are her parents, Gary and Charlotte Bone of Pevely, MO; husband, David Johns of Glen Carbon, IL; beloved daughters, Zoey and Allison Johns; three brothers: Patrick (Kelly) Bone of Glen Carbon, IL, Doug (Sandy) Mercille of Columbia, IL, and Kevin Mercille of Pevely, MO; a sister, Connie (Todd) Harbison of Potosi, MO; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial visitation will be from 4 to 7 PM on Tuesday, May 30, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
Memorial Mass will be at 11 AM on Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at St. Joachim Catholic Church in Old Mines, MO with Father Patrick Gibbons and Father Tony as celebrants. Burial will be immediately after Mass in St. Joachim Cemetery with a banquet to follow at the Old Mines Knights of Columbus Hall.
Memorials are suggested to 3 Little Birds 4 Life (www.3littlebirds4life.org) or the American Cancer Society (donate.cancer.org) and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062 or can be donated online.
