Lewis William Sawley, age 92 of Collinsville, IL. Passed away on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

He was born April 10, 1931, in East St. Louis, IL to the late Burt L. and Alpha Rella (nee Hatcher) Sawley.  He was a graduate of East St. Louis High School, an Army Veteran and studied watchmaking and jewelry repair.  He married Lydia K. (nee Obst) Sawley on February 28, 1965, and she survives.

Bill, as he was known by his friends, was a talented pianist and entertainer who played piano with many bands in the St. Louis Metro area until just recently.  Bill was also an accomplished piano technician who was known in that industry for his expertise with Steinway pianos. Bill and his wife Lydia were avid sailors when they were young enjoying many days on the area waterways competing with their Lightning sailboat.  Bills quick wit and humor will be missed by all who knew him.  Bill released his worldly life in prayer and is now free.

His wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
