Linda C. McDowell, age 71 of Collinsville, IL, born October 29, 1949 in Independence, KS, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 2, 2021 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Linda retired from the City of Collinsville after 30 years of service as a City Clerk.  She loved spending time with her grandkids and great-grandkids, close friends, listening to a variety of music, and watching old movies.  She and her late husband loved to travel.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph T. McDowell, whom she married August 2, 1969; and her parents, Kenneth Kirk and Joan (nee Foster) Edwards.

She is survived by her two children:  Joseph (Angela) McDowell II of Milwaukie, OR and Carrie McDowell of Troy, IL; 5 grandchildren:  Cassie Bruns, Anna McDowell, Aaron Cline, Madisyn Carrino and Jackson Knutt; two great-grandchildren:  McKenna and Jayden; two sisters:  Beth (Paul) Sij of Collinsville, IL and Tracy Kirk of CA; a brother-in-law of Phoenix, AZ; as well as several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made in Linda's honor to Collinsville Education Scholarship Foundation and will be received at the funeral home.
