Linda K. McFall, 80, of Collinsville, IL, passed away at her residence on Thursday, June 18, 2026.
She was born on March 23, 1946, in Springfield, MO, the daughter of the late Frank and Edith Workman Wolters.
Linda graduated from Willard High School in 1964. Throughout her school years and in her church community, she shared her love of music by singing solos and often served as the lead vocalist in a women’s trio.
After high school Linda did photography work for Mid-America Dairy. She later began her career with Southwestern Bell/ATT as a switchboard operator. Through dedication and hard work, she advanced within the company and eventually retired after 40 years of service as Executive Vice President of Safety and Marketing.
Following retirement Linda worked for St. Johns Community Care helping others with dementia and advocating for people challenged by aging disabilities. Linda had an extremely hard work ethic and was very compassionate in giving stimulating and enjoyable care to those suffering with dementia.
She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy in life was spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild. They were truly the pride and joy of her life. Linda also enjoyed keeping up with current events and was an avid viewer of Fox News.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her brother, Harold Melvyn Wolters.
She is survived by her two daughters, Jennifer (Greg) McVicar of Glen Carbon, IL, and Jill (Bill) Schneider of Edwardsville, IL; four beloved grandchildren, Austin Ellis, Paityn Schneider, Camdyn Schneider, and great - granddaughter, Aria Ellis; her brother, Larry (Janice) Wolters of O’Fallon, MO; two sisters, Sandra (Gary) Wolters Gourley and Janice (Kelly) Wolters Martin, both of Springfield, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In accordance with Linda’s wishes, she will be cremated and no services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association or Dementia Society of America
