Glen Carbon
Linda Ennis Tinney, 83, of Denver, CO, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Meridian Village Memory Care in Glen Carbon, IL.
Born on August 9, 1941, in Springfield, IL, Linda Tinney served as the vice president for Community Affairs at U.S. Bank in Denver, where she managed community development, community affairs, corporate contributions, volunteer programs and related regulations for nearly 30 years. Linda created and facilitated creative strategies and initiatives to build and strengthen communities and the people who live and work in them with special focus on low to moderate income people and areas. She worked to develop affordable housing, create jobs through small business and economic development and help people achieve their dreams by building their financial skills through financial education and promoting access to consumer products designed to meet their needs. She also developed and grew strategic relationships with community organizations and agencies. Co-founding the Mile High Community Loan Fund (MHCLF) in Denver was her most proud professional accomplishment.
Linda's creative spirit found joy in painting, gardening, and reading, pastimes that brought beauty and calm to her life and to those around her.
She was preceded in death by her parents Harold and Virginia "Ginda" (née Keys) Ennis and sisters, Sheila Ennis and Cherie Ennis Johnson.
She is lovingly survived by her daughter, Christine Ferguson and husband James of Glen Carbon, IL; her son, Keys Tinney and girlfriend Marlo Cipri-Persichitte of Castle Rock, CO; four cherished grandchildren: Kathryn, Rylee, Carson Tinney, and Tyler Ferguson; and her sister, Carol Jackson.
Linda's request was to donate her body to Washington University of School of Medicine for the advancement of science. No memorial is to be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in memory of Linda Tinney to the Urban Land Conservancy in Denver Colorado. Linda was deeply involved with the ULC during her time at U.S. Bank in Denver, and supporting this organization is a meaningful way to honor her legacy. Contributions can be mailed to 1600 Downing Street, Suite 300, Denver, CO 80218, or made online at www.urbanlandc.org/donate. Cards may be sent to Christy Ferguson PO Box 69, Glen Carbon, IL 62034.
