Loretta M. Thompson, age 80 of Glen Carbon, IL, born April 2, 1937 in Greenville, IL, passed away on Friday, September 1, 2017 at her residence.

Loretta was a devoted homemaker. She was a member of the Bluffview Baptist Church in Collinsville, IL. She was a past member of Sweet Adeline's. Loretta enjoyed painting ceramics, and loved to cook and travel.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lee Jones and Edna nee Walker Seifert; her husband, Starly O.Thompson whom she married September 27, 1958; and a brother, Earl Jones.

She is survived by two sons: Steven (Dena) Thompson of Collinsville, IL and David Thompson of Glen Carbon, IL; two grandchildren: Alexander and Allison; and one great grandson, Sebastian.

Visitation will be 5pm to 8pm on Thursday, September 7, 2017 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10am on Friday, September 8, 2017 at Bluffview Baptist Church, 2052 N. Bluff Road, Collinsville, IL with Rev. Roger Wright officiating. Burial will be in Brown Cemetery, Old Ripley, IL.
