Lynn Sue (nee Bendel) Cook, age 69 of Maryville, IL, born February 22, 1950 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Sunday, November 17, 2019 at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon, IL.

Lynn was a 1968 Collinsville High School graduate.  She retired from the IRS Taxpayer Service Division after 27 years of service.  She enjoyed biking, hiking, badminton, and traveling to the Rocky and Smokey Mountains.  She loved boating and her favorite boating place was Table Rock Lake in Branson, MO.  She found comfort in reading the Bible and would post Daily Bread Bible verses on her Facebook for friends.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staff at Eden Village Care Center and Vitas Hospice for their exceptional care and compassion.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Bendel and Mary (nee Kramer) Bendel- Cravens; her step-father, Forest Cravens; a sister, Shirley Werner; five beloved canines:  Max, Scooter, Jax, Jill and Oscar.

She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Michael L. Cook, whom she married June 27, 1969; two sons:  Michael J. Cook and Mathew T. Cook, both of Maryville, IL; one granddaughter,  Anna (Chris) Ward; a great-grandson, Easton Ward; her twin sister, Linda Rosland of Maryville and a sister, Vicki (David) McDonald of Highland, IL; brother-in-law, Paul Werner of Collinsville, IL; three nieces:  Stacy (nee Rosland) Capps, Beth McDonald and Kate (nee McDonald) Taylor; a great niece, Marinda Schneider; her best friend, Pam Deshasier of Maryville, IL; and canine companions:  Dro, Cooper and Harley.

Lynn's wishes were to be cremated and upon her request, no services will be held.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Partners for Pets and can be mailed to the funeral home.
