Marcine Lemke, age 87 of Glen Carbon, IL, born April 17, 1936 in Mt. Sterling, IL, passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2023 at Meridian Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.

Marcine was a retired teacher after 25 years with the Hazelwood School District.  She attained her Master's Degree in Education, was a very avid reader, and loved flower gardening, and is a member of Our Lord's Lutheran Church in Maryville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harold and Ruby (nee Rigor) Henrick; and two sisters, Colleen Corner and Phyllis Gibson.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, James Lemke, whom she married July 1, 1961; a son, Matthew (Vicki) Lemke of Houston, TX; a daughter, Allison Lemke of Valley Head, AL; two grandchildren, Brian Lemke and Kelly Barker; a sister, Janice Wones of Overland, MO.

Marcine's wishes were to be cremated.

Memorial visitation will be Tuesday June 20, 2023, from 10am to 11am Our Lord's Lutheran Church, 150 Wilma Drive, Maryville, IL. Celebration of Marcine's life will be held at 11am and officiated by Pastor Darla Ann R. Kratzer.
