Marilyn nee Block Thomas, age 89 of Collinsville, IL, born December 24, 1927 in Collinsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at her residence.

Marilyn was a Collinsville High School graduate, and a retired secretary. She was a member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville. She loved her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Florence nee Palmer Block; her husband, Hubert J. Thomas; and a sister, Dorothy Althardt.

She is survived by two sons: Tim (Cindy) Thomas of Collinsville, IL and Tom (Susan) Thomas of Maryville, IL; a daughter, Patricia (Robert) Lorenz of Huntsville, AL; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; a brother, Donald (Carol) Block of Collinsville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be 9:30 am to 11am on Monday, November 20, 2017 at St. John United Church of Christ, 307 West Clay, Collinsville, IL.

Memorial service will be at 11am following the visitation with Rev. Marvin Morgan officiating. Private burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made to St. John United Church of Christ or Shriner's Children's Hospital and will be received at the visitation.
