Mark Edward "Boner" Stephens, age 70, of Collinsville, IL, born March 16, 1952 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

Mark was a 1970 graduate of Collinsville High School and was an operating engineer in the construction industry. He initially worked at Peabody Coal Company, then D&K Backhoe, and later worked for Keller Construction in Edwardsville. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and hunting, and spending time with friends and family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Elizabeth (Holshouser) Stephens, Sr.; a brother, Charles Stephens, Jr.; and a sister, Susie DuVall.

He is survived by a son, Chris Stephens of Collinsville, IL; two daughters, Kelley (Kyle) Gaither of Maryville, IL and Carrie (Tim) Johnson of Troy, IL; six grandchildren: Connor and Jaden Stephens, Kai & Kelea Gaither, Grahm & Lexi Johnson; two brothers, Johnny (Karen) Stephens of Collinsville, IL and Steve Stephens of Collinsville, IL; a sister, Mary Beth (Terry) Wilson of Collinsville, IL; nieces and nephews.

His wishes were to be cremated and a private burial will be held at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Cemetery at a later date.
