Mary Magdaline Francis, age 91, of Collinsville, IL, born July 22, 1931 in Collinsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, December 10, 2022, at her home.

Mary worked at Montgomery Ward, Cullop Jennings Florist, and she retired from Madison County Department on Aging. She was involved with the PTA at Webster School and was a member of the Democratic Club of Madison County, driving voters to the polls during elections. She enjoyed playing bingo and doing word search puzzles. She especially loved playing cards with her grandchildren and visiting her grandchildren who lived out of the area.

Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Rose (Ott) Sleeter; her husband, Harrison F. Francis, whom she married on May 28, 1960; three sisters: Florence, Kathryn, and Rose; and a brother, Charles.

She is survived by 2 sons, Dwaine and Edward Cook; 2 daughters, Karen (Tanner) Vizer and Tammy (Francis) Sievers; 11 grandchildren: Eric Cook, Stacey (Cook) Shelton, Rachel (Cook) Mertz, Sarah (Cook) Shepherd, Michael Cook, Sara (Cook) Samford, Tara (Cook) Harmon, Matt Vizer, Monika (Vizer) Kavran, Adam Sievers, and Hannah (Sievers) Morrison; 20 great-grandchildren: Nathan, Dylan, and Abby Cook, Brandon, Jared, and Justin Hyatt, Jace and Zach Shelton, Jacob and Katie Mertz, Kyle, Tyler, and Leah Shepherd, Martin and Andrew Cook, Riley Samford, Marshall Harmon, Emma and Lucas Kavran, and Matthias Sievers.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday December 14, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Maryville, IL

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 a.m. at the funeral home, with Rev. John Shank officiating. Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
