Mary Ann Nicol, age 91 of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born May 3, 1929 in Collinsville, IL, passed away on Sunday, May 17, 2020 at Aperion Care Center in Mascoutah, IL.

Mary Ann was a homemaker.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Margaret nee Civisky Wedemeyer; a son, Gary Nicol; and two sisters:  Betty Grafe and Shirley Hoerchler.

She is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Howard "Jim" Nicol, whom she married June 12, 1949; a son, Michael (Janet) Nicol of Decatur, IL; two daughters:  Peggy (Tommy) Cooper of Belleville, IL and Kathy (John) Murphy of Belleville, IL; nine grandchildren:  Karen (Dale) Haukeli, Sabine Nicol, Jennifer (Matt) Tritsch, Justin McGrew, Glen (Amanda) McGrew, Thomas (Valari) Cooper, Joshua Cooper, Brittany (Josh) Dworman and Andrew Manson; 10 great-grandchildren:  Ryan, Alex, Landon, Carson, Nicholas, Cory, Zachary, Tyler, Connor and Adelynn; two great-great-grandchildren:  Selena and William; numerous nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held on Thursday, May 21, 2020 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home with Rev. Michael Walther officiating.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials may be made in Mary Ann's honor to Alzheimer's Association and mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
