Matthew Joseph Burgess, age 58 of Plano TX, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born July 18, 1960 in Collinsville, IL passed away on Tuesday May 28, 2019 in Plano, Texas.

Matt was a 1978 Collinsville High School graduate.  He attended Florida Tech University and University of MO – Rolla.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Gene Burgess; grandparents:  Allen and Marcella Burgess and Joseph and Emma Calza; mother and father-in-law, Jim and Grace Rush.

He is survived by his wife, Terri (nee Rush) Burgess; his mother, Mary Jane Burgess; a sister, Michelle Burgess; a brother, Mark (Mary Kay) Burgess; two nephews: Adam (Gina) Burgess and Brant (Bethany) Burgess; two great-nephews:  Aiden and Asher; and a great-niece, Sloane; two sisters-in-law:  Vicki (Randy) Watson and Micki (Sherri Nichols) Rush.

Memorial visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.
