Michael Jon Drost, age 57 of Maryville, IL, born October 9, 1961 in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019.

Michael was a 1980 Collinsville High School graduate.  He worked for Cerro Copper in Sauget, IL, and enjoyed riding motorcycles, hunting, and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Jon Anthony "Bud" Drost; grandparents, Melvin and Evelyn Heinicke and John and Mary Drost; and a nephew, Jon Clay Drost.

He is survived by his mother, Jerri ( nee Heinicke) Wilson; two children, Matthew Jon Drost of Maryville, IL and Melissa Anne (Nick) Staley of Millstadt, IL; two grandchildren, Rylee and Natalie Staley; three brothers, Robert (Sheila) Drost, Thomas Drost and Johnie Wilson, all of Maryville, IL; a sister, Lynn (Randy) Smith of Collinsville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Thursday, April 4, 2019 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Private burial will be held in Fairland Cemetery, Maryville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Drost Park and will be received at the funeral home.
