Michael Lon Hurt, age 72 of Edwardsville, IL, born November 19, 1949 in Heidelberg, Germany, passed away on Monday, January 10, 2022 at his residence with his family by his side.

Michael was a retired AT&T systems analyst.  He served proudly in the U.S. Army, was a wine enthusiast, and had a great sense of humor.  He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and spending time with family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lon Sylvester and Margaret (nee Lindemann) Hurt; and a son, Benjamin Hurt.

He is survived by his wife, Tina (nee Wilfong) Hurt, whom he married August 28, 2010; five children:  Michelle (Brendon) Marbry of Paducah, KY, Zachariah (Samantha) Hurt of Paducah, KY, Theodore (Michelle) Hurt of Las Vegas, NV, Amanda Fenton of Collinsville, IL and Jessica (Sean) Seckler of Glen Carbon, IL; 11 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; four siblings:  Maryanne (Curtis) Lane of CA, Pamela Beck of Lockport, KY, Patricia (James) Shipley of Yorbalinda, CA and Jeanette (Tony) Rucker of Campbellsburg, KY; numerous nieces and nephews.

Upon his request, Michael was cremated and will be buried with honors at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery at a later date.
