Michael Alan Richardson, 75, of Collinsville, IL, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Michael was born on October 15, 1950, in Granite City, IL, to the late Wayne and Josephine (nee Manno) Richardson. He dedicated 30 years of service to the Granite City Fire Department, retiring as Captain. Michael was also a proud member of the Granite City Fire Department Honor Guard.
A history enthusiast, Michael had a particular passion for World War II. He also enjoyed reading and music and cherished the time he spent with his family.
Michael is survived by his loving wife, Rose (nee Wood) Richardson, whom he married on September 15, 2003; three children, Catherine (Jon) Dismukes of Granite City, IL, Laura (Doug) Busekrus of Lafayette, IN, and Kelly Turner of Glen Carbon, IL; six grandchildren, Rogan Dismukes, Shelby Dismukes, Paige Busekrus, Joey Busekrus, Destiny Hope, and Tayler Hope; one great-grandchild, Ivy Hope; a sister, Jean (Steve) Weatherman of Roanoke, VA; and a brother-in-law, Max Wood of Troy, IL.
Private services will be held. Michael will be laid to rest at Clifton Central Cemetery.
Memorials are suggested to the Metro East Humane Society and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
