Obituary

Michelle Ann Noll, age 54 of Edwardsville, IL, passed away on Saturday, February 25, 2023 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO after a hard fought battle with pulmonary fibrosis that progressed quickly.  Her loving husband and children were by her side.

Michelle was born in Belleville, IL on January 9, 1969 to the late Lawrence Edward and Linda Marlene (nee Dothager) Elam.  She earned her bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences from Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C., class of 1993.  Her career spanned 29 years at Howard Hughes Medical institute, Washington University, Pharmacia/Pfizer and back to Washington University Medical School.  Michelle's last responsibility was as a Senior Research Technician, Diamond Lab at Washington University.

Michelle was a passionate and loving wife and mother whom family was everything.  She is survived by her loving husband & soulmate, Kenneth (Ken) Noll, whom she married on July 5, 1997, the date chosen for her patriotism and love of fireworks.  Her engagement to Ken came soon after they completed a 40-day bike trip through Europe, with no money and camping in a backyard, park or along a river every night.   Michelle is also survived by four beautiful children; Bayne Kenneth, Gabriel (Gabe) Byrne, Jadyn Summer and Reece Alexander who will miss their mother dearly.  Michelle's passion was to plan trips for her family.  She loved Breckenridge Colorado for the annual ski trip every January and summer vacations somewhere in our vast beautiful country that she so dearly loved.

The weekend warrior fall trips were spent with family and friends.  Her fondness of Alabama and Ole Miss football games and tailgating, Kentucky Bourbon tours and the beautiful fall colors, trips to the wineries and finding small Christmas shops off the beaten path.

Michelle is survived by her mother-in-law, Jean (Oma) (Frans) Noll-VanOudenallen of St. Louis, MO; father-in-law, G.W. "Papa Bud" (Laura) Noll of Edwardsville, IL; sister-in-law, Diane (Kai) Redmon of Glen Carbon, IL; nephew, Lawson Redmon and niece, Lydia Redmon of Glen Carbon, IL;  sister, Paula (Joe) Brewer of Troy, IL; nieces, Jordyn (Ryan) Haynes of Lee Summit, MO and Lauryn Barr of Troy, IL; nephew, Devon (Cheyenne) Barr of Troy, IL; and many other extended family members and friends.
