Nancy Faith Gulledge, age 70, of Maryville, IL, born February 20, 1953 in Toledo, OH, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 29, 2023 at Addington Place of Collinsville, IL.
Nancy was a member of the Collinsville High School Class of 1971. She retired as Chief Deputy of the Madison County Recorder of Deeds office after 36 years of service. Over the years she led an active life as a Brownie, a Girl Scout, a past Honored Queen of Job's Daughters, a member the Collinsville High School Band, a member of St. Luke's Methodist Church where she was a Sunday School teacher for over 30 years, a Bible School teacher, and a Little Grassy Methodist Church Camp counselor. She loved times spent with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Armin C. Shadwick and Charmaine M. (Oberkfell) Shadwick; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lawrence and Gretchen M. Gulledge; and a sister-in-law, Sandra Blair.
She is survived by her husband, Larry W. Gulledge, whom she married on October 20, 1973; two sons: Matthew (Hope Holland) Gulledge, and Daniel (China Rongey) Gulledge, both of Maryville, IL; 5 grandchildren: Alexandra, Blake, Kennedy, Mason, and Hudson Gulledge; a sister-in-law, Karen (Dennis) Vollmar of St. Jacob, IL; a brother-in-law, Kenneth (Juli) Gulledge of Collinsville, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, October 3, 2023, and from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023, at St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Maryville, IL.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 immediately following the morning visitation, with Rev. Robin Lyons, Officiant. Burial will be in Fairland Cemetery, Maryville, IL.
Memorials may be made to St. Luke's United Methodist Church and will be received at the visitation or may be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home (2800 N. Center Street, Maryville IL 62062).
