Norman Earl Hoelscher, age 86 of Collinsville, IL, born October 22, 1937 in Granite City, IL, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.
Norman retired from the Carpenters Local #295 in East St. Louis, IL. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Collinsville, honorably served in the United States Army, and enjoyed fishing and making fishing flies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Eva (nee Wheeler) Hoelscher; and a grandson, Shaun Huff.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Margaret (nee Rentfro) Hoelscher, whom he married November 25, 1989; seven children: Debbie (Terry) Krewinghaus of Venedy, IL, Steve (Kathy) Hoelscher of Collinsville, IL, Kathie Wagner of Smithton, IL, Dan (Karen) Hoelscher of Edwardsville, IL, C.W. (Kathy) Huff of Oakland, TN, David (Michelle) Huff of Collinsville, IL and Shari Price of Collinsville, IL; 14 grandchildren: Rachel Birch, Heather Harmon, Peirson Krewinghaus, Faith Hoelscher, Holle Wagner, Jake Hoelscher, Adam Hoelscher, Scott (Lori) Huff, Ray (Alicia) Price, Erin (Ray) Gard, Neely (Justin) Gunn, Heather (Mike) Rhew, Josh Spence, and Tiffany Spence; 12 great-grandchildren: Knox, Carly, Anniston, Madison, Margie, Roman, Charity, Lucas, Tyler, Tristan, Greyson, and Jonah; and a sister, Roberta (Vernon) Lindell of Jacksonville, IL.
Memorial visitation will be 9 – 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 27, 2024 at First United Methodist Church, 207 W. Church Street, Collinsville, IL.
Memorial service will follow at 11 a.m. with Rev. Mike Barclay officiating. Burial with military honors will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.
Memorials are suggested to Shriner's Hospital or First United Methodist Church and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
