Norman Martinez, age 79, of Edwardsville, IL (formerly of California), born January 21, 1943 in Puerto Cortez Honduras, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2022 at his residence.

Norman was preceded in death by his parents, Julio Cesar Smith Urbina and Isabel (Cruz) Martinez, a brother, Policarpo Smith, and a sister, Sarah.

He is survived by his sons, Anthony (Nikole Bowen) Neal of Edwardsville, IL and Juan Carlos (Edith Avilez) Martinez of Oak Hills, CA; and eight grandchildren: Jacob, Aaron, Paige, Pablo, Angel, Andrew, Tyler, and Nicholas McKeever; 3 brothers, Elias Martinez, Joseph Antonio Smith, and Jorge Alberto Smith; and a sister, Sandra Smith.

Norman had a Master's Degree and taught the blind and multi-handicapped. He loved music and dancing and enjoyed a glass of wine. Above all, his family was very important to him.

Norman was cremated and burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery in Glendale, CA.
