Opal May Rost, age 91 of Maryville, IL, born August 4, 1926 in Granite City, IL passed away on Friday, August 18, 2017 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Opal was very dedicated to her job having worked for AT&T nearly 40 years. In retirement, she enjoyed reading, taking care of her cats, and spending time with her great nephews and great niece.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John Henry and Charlotte Amy nee Burton Rost; and a sister, Barbara Crake.

She is survived by a brother-in-law, William Crake of Maryville, IL; a niece, Pamela (Ralph) Hylton of Collinsville, IL; and great nephews and niece: Isaac, Andrew and Emma Hylton.

Graveside service will be at 11am on Saturday, August 26, 2017 at Woodburn Cemetery in Woodburn, IL with Rev. Dr. Lloyd Shaw officiating.

Memorials may be made to the Metro East Humane Society, and can be mailed to the funeral home.
