Patricia Eunice Burg ( nee Welle), age 85 of Maryville, IL, born June 23, 1933 in Collinsville, IL, passed away on Friday, November 30, 2018 at her residence with family by her side.

Patricia "Pat" was a 1951 Collinsville High School graduate.  She was the first group of cheerleaders to wear the official Kahok Indian outfit.  At one time, Pat was a roller-skating instructor, previous owner and operator with her husband, Bob, of Cullop-Jennings Florist in Collinsville, President of the Junior Service Club in 1973, and a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Collinsville. Pat and Bob were very involved in Collinsville Purple Pride.  Pat loved her family and grandchildren and will be dearly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Fern ( nee Davis) Welle.

She is survived by her loving husband of 66 years, Robert W. Burg, whom she married on January 12, 1952; three sons:  Bill (Bobbi) Burg of Maryville, IL, Tom (Dawn) Burg of St. Jacob, IL and David (Maggi) Burg of Douglasville, GA; a daughter, Lynda (Barry) Burns of Maryville, IL; 8 grandchildren:  Michelle (Josh) Burgess, Christy (Mike) Carter, Stacy (Chris) Mattingly, Zachary (April) Burg, Alixanna Burg, Amber Burns, Abbey Burns and Nicolas Burg; 9 great grandchildren:  Kyle, Jacob, Ben, Brie, Bella, Brooke, Cruz, Luca and Landon; three sisters:  Marguerite Bruns of FL, JoAnn Hughes of Maryville, IL and Deanna (Marion) Hott of Maryville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4pm to 8pm on Wednesday, December 5, 2018 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL and from 9am to 10am on Thursday, December 6, 2018 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral mass will be at 10am on Thursday with Father John Beveridge celebrant.  Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Memorial Estates, Glen Carbon, IL.

Memorials may be made to SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church or American Cancer Society and will be received at the funeral home.
