Paul Stuart Fraser, age 67 of Edwardsville, IL, born October 19, 1957, in Calumet, MI, passed away on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, at his home.
Paul attained his Bachelor of General Studies from the University of Missouri in 1980, Masters of Divinity from Lael University in 1982, Ph.D. in Counseling from Lael University in 1983, and Masters of Education from the University of Missouri St. Louis in 1996.
Paul worked as an assistant trainer to the athletic teams at Kirkwood High School. In 1993 he began teaching Psychology and U.S. History at Belleville West High School, retiring in 2019.

Paul earned the nickname of "Gramps" in high school and the name continued throughout his life with his friends and grandchildren. It fit his kind, funny, generous and sentimental spirit.
His sense of humor, playfulness and gentle guidance endeared him to his grandchildren, niece, nephews, godchildren and the many young people he taught throughout his life and career.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Joan (nee Brammer) Fraser; and a brother, Barry Fraser.
Surviving is his wife, Cindy (nee Hinkle) Fraser, whom he married June 2, 2018; two step-sons, Jeffrey (Eunice) Malawy and Ryan (Ai) Malawy; three grandchildren: Mason Malawy, Noah Malawy and Audrey Malawy; a brother, Bruce (Norma) Fraser; a sister, Judith (Roger) Webster; three nephews: Joshua (Annette) Fraser, Jacob (Corri) Fraser and Evan Webster; a niece, Annie (Brad) Pluhar; two great-nieces: Quinn and Wren; and two great-nephews: Owen and Barry.
A graveside service will be held at a later date in Nova Scotia, Canada, where he will be interred with his parents, brother and first dog, Chip. The cemetery is adjacent to the farm that was his paternal family's home for generations after arriving from Scotland in the 1700s.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, January 11, 2025 from 3 to 6 p.m. at The Outlet Event Center, 2477 S. State Route 157, Edwardsville, IL 62025. Park in the far north end of the parking area and enter through The Outlet entrance.
