Phyllis Ann Fresen, age 90 of Maryville, IL, born May 24, 1933 in Wayne City, IL, passed away on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 at Anderson Hospital.

Phyllis was a retired fourth grade elementary teacher.  She was a member of the Collinsville First United Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Fresen, whom she married on May 27, 1955; parents, Lycurgus and Alberta (nee Close) Whitlock; and two sisters: Jesse Castegnaro and Mary Jo Otis.

Surviving are her two children, Mark Fresen of St. Jacob, IL and Bonnie Moncelli of Collinsville, IL; three grandchildren:  Michelle Fresen, Daniel and Emily Moncelli; and two sisters:  Doris Oliver of Highland, IL and Clara Mae Suchman of Columbus, OH; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 9 – 11 a.m. on Monday, March 11, 2024 at Collinsville First United Methodist Church.

Funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Mike Barkley and Rev. Jame Hahs.

Burial will be in Valley View Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
