Raymond Harold Niel, age 93 of Caseyville, IL, born July 31, 1927 in St. Louis, MO, passed away on Wednesday, May 5, 2021 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL.

Raymond was a retired carpenter who liked to fish, play golf, loved good food but especially loved being with his family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Marie (nee Weekley) Niel, whom he married December 23, 1947; and his parents, Harold and Cordelia (nee Gotsch) Niel.

He is survived by his son, Mike (Pat) Niel of Glen Carbon, IL; two grandchildren, Charlie (Robin) Niel of O'Fallon, MO and Sara (Rob) Toth of St. Jacob, IL; and two great-grandchildren, Kylie Toth and Cordelia Niel.

Visitation will be 9 – 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. following the visitation with Rev. Roger Wright officiating.  Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fairview Heights, IL.

Memorials may be made in Raymond's honor to the American Heart Association and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
