Richard Lynn Biggs, 70 of Troy, IL, born March 17, 1955 in Granite City, IL, passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL

Richard honorably served and retired from the United States Navy. He later worked for the U.S. Federal Courthouse as a records manager. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Notre Dame fan and loved cooking and working in his yard.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Dale Biggs; and a sister-in-law, Tammie McIntire.

He is survived by his mother and step-father, Alma (nee Oliver) and Earl Smith; loving wife of 43 years, Donna (nee Kramarz) Biggs, whom he married May 29, 1981; two children: Adam Biggs and Amanda (David) Sweet; three brothers: Bill McIntire, David (Sonya) McIntire and Charlie (Lila) Sanders; a sister, Barbara Ann Geiger; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, April 28, 2025 and 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at St. Jerome Catholic Church, 511 South Main, Troy, IL with Father Kevin Laughery celebrant.

Burial with military honors will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.

Memorials are suggested to the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
