Richard "Rick" Allen Gurley, age 69 of Maryville, IL, born May 13, 1948 in Hillsboro, IL, passed away on Thursday, May 3, 2018 at his residence.

Rick attained his B.S. in Accounting from SIUE. He was an accountant for 35 years having worked for Sierra International and other accounting firms. He was a member of DKT Fraternity, TKE Fraternity, and Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Maryville, IL. He loved spending time with his grandkids, playing cards, golfing, traveling, watching old movies, and Cardinal baseball. He was an animal lover, especially his canine friends Dolly, Beau Buddy, and Harper Star.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Laurie nee Mol Gurley; and a sister, Andr Gurley-Budd.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Victoria nee SamoskaGurley, whom he married November 27, 1970; a daughter, Amy (Kyle Sombke) Gurley, D.V.M. of Monmouth, IL; and two grandsons: Jake and Luke Sombke.

Visitation will be 9am to 10:45am on Monday, May 7, 2018 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral mass will be at 11am following the visitation at Mother of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 200 N. Lange Street, Maryville, IL with Father Joseph Havrilka celebrant. Private burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.

Memorials may be made to Mother of Perpetual Help or Metro East Lab Rescue and will be received at the funeral home.
