Robert Dale Magruder, 84, of Caseyville, Illinois, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 28, 2026, at his home, surrounded by his loving family .

Robert was born on December 6, 1941, in Edwardsville, Illinois, to the late Billye Sr. and Julie (nee Menoni) Magruder. He was a graduate of Edwardsville High School and was a retired laborer.

Robert was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt and fish. He especially enjoyed spending time at the river, where he found great peace and enjoyment. He proudly and honorably served his country in the United States Marine Corps, and was of the Catholic faith.

In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by two brothers, Bill Magruder, Jr. and Gene Magruder; and a nephew, Randy Magruder.

He is survived by his loving wife, Dora (nee Petty) Magruder, whom he married on October 19, 1993; his son, Scott Holloway; two daughters, Cindy Wilson and Leann Randolph; three grandchildren, Hunter Wilson, Ryan Wallace, and Meghan Wallace; two great-grandchildren, Leo and Cashton Pace; and his brother, Dan Magruder.

A graveside service with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, Missouri.

Memorials are suggested to the Disabled American Veterans (DAV) and will be received at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
