Roger F. Bunselmeyer, age 91 of Collinsville, IL, born December 17, 1932 in Cora, IL, passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Aspen Creek of Troy surrounded by his loving family.

Mr. Bunselmeyer retired from Granite City Steel after 39 years of service.  He honorably served in the United States Army during the Korean War, was a member of the Masonic Lodge East #504 Scottish Rite, member of St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville, and member of SOAR.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Corrine (nee Murden) Bunselmeyer; son, Jeffery Bunselmeyer; a sister, Lela Jolley; and a brother, Homer Bunselmeyer.

He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Bonnie (nee Brown) Bunselmeyer, whom he married November 22, 1953; daughter, Laura (Dave) Thompson; grandchildren:  Drew Thompson and Lexie (Alex) Smith; and sister, Sharon (Richard) Misuraca.

Visitation will be 4 – 6 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 6 p.m. officiated by Rev. Katie Jo Bielke.
