Roger Dean Daniels, age 87 of Glen Carbon, IL, born December 26, 1937, in Mounds, IL, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Eden Village Care Center.

Roger was a 1956 Dupo High School graduate where he enjoyed and participated in various sports. He proudly served in the United States Army Reserves from 1961 to 1966. He retired from the former McDonnell Douglas/Boeing after 35 years of service. Roger enjoyed bowling, traveling (especially cruises), was an antique car enthusiast, and an avid St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and College NCAA Basketball fan.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John Lewis and Phyllis DeLois (nee Clanahan) Daniels, and an infant son, Jeffrey Dean Daniels.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Mary Sue (nee Noethen) Daniels, whom he married May 23, 1959; two sons: Roger Noethen Daniels and Steven Patrick Daniels; a daughter, Laury Ann (Douglas) Higgins; one grandson, Daniel Jack Higgins; a step granddaughter, Alexandra (Blake) Bickhaus; two great grandsons, Brooks and Tate Bickhaus; and a sister, Johnna Lou (James) Dieleman; various cousins, nieces, nephews and close family friends.

Memorial visitation will be 1 to 3 p.m. on Friday, January 3, 2025 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.
