Rosalie Lacopo, age 82 of Troy, IL, formerly of the Maryville/Collinsville area, passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at her residence.
Rosalie was born April 8, 1938 in Consumers, UT to the late Armando and Mary (nee Fratto) Salzetti. She graduated from Notre Dame High School in Price UT. She married John Lacopo on April 12, 1958 and he preceded her in death. Rosalie had worked as an accounting manager. She was a member of St. Jerome Catholic Church in Troy, IL. She enjoyed gardening, birds, playing family games, building puzzles, the St. Louis Cardinals but most of all spending time with her family. Rosalie rarely missed any of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren's events and activities. She made everyone feel special. She was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John; an infant son; a brother, Richard Salzetti; and a sister-in-law, Vicki Salzetti.
She is survived by her five children: Jami Kypta, Donald Lacopo, John (Mary Bonebrake) Lacopo, Jodi (Lloyd) Rulli and Rosanne (Paul) Theodorakis; 15 grandchildren: Gregory (Heather) Kypta, Bruce Kypta, Jennifer (Keith) Mumper, JuliAnn (Kevin) Gerhardt, Jenelle Kypta, Daniel Kypta, Alaina (Scott) Schlaefer, Lauren (Casey) Cerrato, Jacob Lacopo, Chris (Jessica) Lawson-Rulli, Vinnie (Julia) Rulli, Francesca Rulli, Dominic Rulli, Luchie Rulli, and Alexander Theodorakis; 19 great-grandchildren: Meera Kypta, Addie Mumper, Hannah Kypta, Tori Mumper, Riley Kypta, Payton Schlaefer, Gracelyn Kypta, Camryn Schlaefer, Izzy Rulli, Jolie Lawson-Rulli, Deklan Gerhardt, Jenna Lawson-Rulli, Austin Schlaefer, Jaxon Tirado, Luca Rulli, Leo Cerrato, Kilian Gerhardt, Emilia Rulli and River Tirado; three brothers: John Salzetti, Don (Claudia) Salzetti and Dave (Brenda) Salzetti; a sister, Mary (Mike) Porter; numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 207 Vandalia, Collinsville, IL. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions, social distancing guidelines will be observed and masks are required to be worn.
Funeral service will be at 11:30 a.m. following the visitation with Father John Beveridge Celebrant. Burial will be in Buck Road Cemetery, Maryville, IL.
Memorials may be made in Rosalie's honor to the American Heart Association and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
