Rose E. Baima, 97, former resident of Collinsville, IL, died Thursday, September 13, 2018 at Meridian Village, which had been her home for the past 12 years.

Mrs. Baima was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.  She met her husband, Edward, while working at the Brooks Canning Factory in Collinsville.  They were married on May 28, 1942 and celebrated their 64 ^th wedding anniversary in 2005.

She was devoted to helping others, especially her many close family members and friends.  She enjoyed homemaking, traveling and gardening.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Collinsville, helped in the nursery, and taught Sunday school and vacation Bible school.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Baima; her parents, Joseph and Matilda  ( nee Liebler) Massa; nine sisters, and four brothers, and a son-in-law Troy Cole.

Surviving are two daughters, Betty Cole of Edwardsville, IL and Kathy (Kent) Splaingard of Edwardsville, IL; four grandsons, Kort (Sandra) Cole of Troy, IL, Kade (Amber) Cole of Dorsey, IL, Zach Splaingard of Englewood, CO, and Ben Splaingard of Edwardsville, IL; two great-grandchildren, Kaleb Cole of Fishers, IN and Sarah Cole of Troy, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. following the visitation with Rev. Brad Thomas officiating.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville. IL.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Southern IL and will be received at the funeral home.
